ADMISSIONS

We are open for Registration for school term commencing in January 2011.

This will be for K1, K2 and Grade 1. (Download Khmer information).

Admission Procedures

Parents wishing to enrol children in Sangkhim Canaan School must fill up a student application form. There is a $5.00 registration fee for this application. The registration fee will be used to offset the first month’s school fees, if application is successful. The application fee will be refunded in the event of an unsuccessful application.

After submitting the application with the relevant documentation (birth certificates, guardianship papers), the school will arrange for a briefing with the staff, the child and the parents. At the briefing, parents will be given the Parent / Student Handbook and briefed on the purpose and goals of Sangkhim Canaan School. Parents will then make the final decision to enrol the child.

Parents should be aware that Sangkhim Canaan School is a Christian aided school and their child will be exposed to Christian teachings and values. However, no student will be coerced to believe nor will any student be penalised for not becoming a Christian.

Admission Requirements for the Student

Children must be five years of age by September 30 (of that academic year), to be eligible for Kindergarten 1 and six years of age by September 30, (of that academic year) to be eligible for Kindergarten 2. Students must be seven years of age to be admitted to Grade 1.

Sangkhim Canaan School reserves the right not to admit/re-admit any student when deemed by the Principal that such admission is not in the best interest of the school, the family, or the child.

Sangkhim Canaan School does not discriminate in its admission policy based on race, national origin, religion or sex. As preference is given to local Cambodians, no more than 20% of the places shall be given to non-Cambodian children.

Pre Admission Parent/Student Orientation

As we consider the role of parents to be vital to each student’s success, at least one parent is required to attend a family orientation before admittance to classes each year. Students of parents who did not attend the orientation will not be allowed admission to classes until arrangements approved by the administrator are made.

The following was the program held on 13 June 2009.
